For over twenty years, Caring For Troops was a ยง501-c3 non-profit organization dedicated to supporting deployed members of the United States military. Its Federal Tax ID number is 27-0111073.
MISSION STATEMENT: Our purpose was to support military members who are deployed outside of the United States and who lives in or has ties to Central Oregon. This was done primarily by sending care packages to deployed troops. We were pro-troop, war-neutral, and non-partisan. We supported our troops in times of peace and in times of war.
WHO WE SERVED: All military members who had a personal connection to Central Oregon including sons, daughters, spouses, parents, grandchildren, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, girlfriends, boyfriends, local friends etc. We supported all branches of the service including active, reserve, and guard components.
FINAL MESSAGE FROM THE CARING FOR TROOPS BOARD:
The Caring for Troops Board met on 22 July 2023 and decided to disband the organization. While our group will close down, another non-profit organization called Operation Care for Troops is still sending care packages to deployed troops. Their resources are sufficient to serve troops from all around the country, including military members from Central Oregon that we previously supported. If you have military friends or family members who are deployed, send their name and APO/FPO address to Operation Care for Troops at deborah@octnh.org or call Deborah Luszey at (603) 321-5541.
The Caring for Troops Board would like to sincerely thank everyone who has supported our troops with their time and resources over the past twenty-plus years. Please keep our young men and women in uniform in your thoughts and prayers.
